Hey everyone!

This new dice tower is one I've been super excited about! This one is a collaboration between myself and my husband (Kyyrbes on Discord). He's a mechanical mastermind and came up with the idea of the twist and rotating stairs/'leaves' for the dice to fall down! Once he modeled the mechanical elements, I did what I do best and made it look pretty and turned it into a tree and added the little decorations to the plugs and leaves!

It's a bit more in depth tower design than I usually do, but it's so fun and satisfying we definitely think it was worth it!

Print Recs

*3-4 walls (higher than usual to ensure stability and less wiggle as it gets taller)

*10-15% infill (thicker walls and more infill are to help give rigidity so the twists don't flex as much)

*NO supports

*Requires 10 leaves and 20 plugs

*Use a tight brim for the plugs, they print in sets of 4 with built in supports that are easy to snip off once printed.

*A basic plug that prints flat is included if adhesion is an issue or for scaling

*The tower itself can be scaled down basically indefinitely. Been tested down to 50% and it gets harder to get the dice out of the catch tray, but mechanically works fine! The quad and decorative plugs will loose the built-in supports when scaled down but a brim with 0.05 or 0 brim gap should help support them fine without the internal supports. Or use the flat down basic plug if the decorative ones have issues scaling down! We do plan on getting some decorative plugs scaled down to 75% with the internal supports built in.

* Each leaf goes into the allotted slots, then those slots covered with the plugs. You can glue in the plugs after assembly if you'd like extra stability and don't plan on replacing plugs.

Bambu Colored 3MF file included. The tower photographed is hand-painted with acrylics.

So pretty!! And clever! Also your nails are like a bang on match for flashforge burnt titanium 😂

Do you use a primer before painting? If so what kind?

For something like this that's not handled and worn extensively I don't personally :). But kyrlon primers and clear coats have always worked well for me
