Who is Sessue Hayakawa?

Sessue Hayakawa is now best known for his role as Colonel Saito in Bridge on the River Kwai, but in the 1920s, Hayakawa was one of the "biggest stars" of the Hollywood silent era, receiving "2 million [dollars] per year" throughout the 20s.
