Hi everybody! This video is different than my normal videos, so there won't be a charge for it. As many of you know, I've spent the past year working on bringing back the CinemaTyler Show series (Stalker video, Fritz Lang videos, etc). I wanted to make sure that I was setting up a format that could be used for all sorts of one-off stories about making movies and film history. In October, I will finally be ready to re-launch the CinemaTyler Show series (under the name Cinema Stories) with the first episode being on William Friedkin's The Exorcist.

In the meantime, here is a previously unreleased video that I made that was meant to be part of a series of videos for 8hours.com with director David Lowery. The 8hours.com project had to be put on hiatus during the pandemic and this video was originally planned to go up on my channel to help promote the project. My hope is that it will send enough people to the project to warrant starting it back up (with or without my help going forward).

You can find the other videos we did with David Lowery here: https://www.8hours.com/browse/h8urs-originals/david-lowery-on-directing-h8urs

I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Hi Tyler, I always love seeing a new video from your channel, and this one was very very interesting. Also, Thank you so kindly for not charging anything for this video, that is so kind of you. I have recently seen ‘’A Ghost Story’’ and I sadly didn’t understand what the film was trying to tell. So that made me not like the film so much, but that is not important. Because I am very glad that you loved the film. And yes, it’s interesting how and when you can use a long tracking shot. I personally love long tracking shots, especially when a lot happens in them. And as for ‘’A Ghost Story’’ not much happens, but it does work for its storytelling. So thank you once again for making a different video. I also can't wait to see the video where you are going to talk about ''The Exorcist''. And as always, I am very looking forward to all the other videos that you are planning to make. Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it! A Ghost Story is a very slow movie, but there is something so contemplative about the way it uses time that I find myself fascinated with it. I think it is better the second time around when you don't have to worry about where the story is going. I think the same can be said about The Green Kight.
