Hi everybody! I'm trying something new here to give you a Patreon-exclusive ad-free version of the video. Hopefully, it works!

In Episode 7, we look at the story behind the Mission Briefing scene including the bit part played by Harrison Ford, Kurtz's original name,  the cinematography, where "terminate with extreme prejudice" came from, and how it was re-filmed after Keitel was fired. We also take a look at cinematographer Vittorio Storaro and his life leading up to being involved in Coppola's epic war story.

Hi Tyler, Thank you again so much for his video. The Apocalypse Now videos are my favorites. I always have to see them 2 or even 3 times to develop all the information you share. It is also wonderful that you put the video I send to you about the mission briefing from Walter Murch. And I thought that Storaro came into the picture because of the film Last Tango in Paris. But I think it’s because both pictures are shot by Storaro. Anyway, thank you, I love love these videos. Be safe sir!

So glad you liked it! Thanks for that Much clip–I think it worked great! I believe what happened was that Coppola liked The Conformist and wanted Storaro to shoot The Godfather Part II and so he went to the set of Last Tango in Paris to meet him. While there, Coppola asked Storaro to join the Godfather production, but Storaro declined because he thought Gordon Willis should do it. Later, Coppola approached Storaro again. This time it was to shoot Apocalypse Now.
