Welcome new patrons! I’ve been busy busy busy. So, the Stalker video blew up, which I was not expecting at all. I sort of wish I had tried to get a sponsorship, but such is life, heh. A good friend of mine DID get approved to intern for CinemaTyler starting in September, so hopefully it’ll become a bit easier for me to generate content. I’m taking this opportunity to really go all-in on the Apocalypse Now series that I’m currently writing. It looks like it is going to be around twenty 10-15 min episodes! All the information I’ve collected is incredible— I really think you’ll like it.

By the way, I saw a screening of Apocalypse Now: Final Cut on IMAX yesterday and it just totally blew me away!

Here is the structure as I have it so far (will probably change around a bit):

*Spoilers for Apocalypse Now*

  1. Intro/Coppola before Apocalypse
  2. George Lucas’ Apocalypse Now
  3. Getting Started
  4. Opening
  5. Mission Briefing
  6. Finding Captain Willard
  7. PBR Crew, Casting
  8. Meeting Kilgore
  9. Ride of the Valkyries
  10. Screenplay: Milius
  11. Screenplay: Coppola
  12. Tiger, Playboy, Dossier, The River
  13. Medivac/Typhoon
  14. Puppy Boat Do Long Bridge
  15. Mr. Clean Death, Chief Death
  16. Heart Attack
  17. Plantation
  18. Kurtz Beginning
  19. Kurtz Ending
  20. Editing
  21. Sound/Soundtrack
  22. Reception

And of course, there are several more videos on production stories (like the Stalker vid) in the works. Another Patreon vote is on the way once I get a little more help.

I’ve also been working with h8urs.com to help produce exclusive content for the site. I’ve been interviewing filmmakers and film professors on their inspirations and thoughts on cinema to turn into video essays narrated entirely by them. One of the filmmakers I interviewed was David Lowery who wrote/directed A Ghost Story and The Old Man and the Gun! This video series will be launching shortly and I’ll post another update when they finally go live.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Thanks! I'm locking myself in my room and pounding coffee to try and write them all at once. ;)
