Happy New Year and 2023 production news! (Patreon)

Dear Patrons,

I trust you have all had a wonderful / have survived the holiday season, and may I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy and successful 2023.

My own plans, as many of you know, include making lots more history videos about Napoleon Bonaparte, and other topics.

Episode 2 of Napoleon in Italy is about 2 weeks away, and I include some preview images to get you in the mood. This episode covers the start of the French siege of Mantua through to the Battle of Castiglione, and sees Napoleon tested as a general like never before.

Big production news for 2023 - work is underway on two more series:

The Abbasid Caliphate: Islam's Golden Age - this will be a 'big picture' narrative history of the Caliphate (similar to our History of Russia series), covering military, cultural and technological achievements, with lots of maps and great new art. 

World War Two - 2023 is the year I finally make the most requested series in the channel's history (by miles!) I know this topic splits the audience, but just to say a few quick things about it: this series will be a fast-paced global overview in the style of our WW1 videos. I will be working hard to make sure it looks and sounds great, and is packed with historical insight (this was the focus of my MA thesis, plus I will be working with specialist historians). The result should not only be a great watch, but - like the WW1 series - an accessible and widely-used educational resource for years to come. 

Alongside that, we also have the rest of Napoleon in Italy, the Battle of Eylau, and more votes on what you want to see next.
