Dear Patrons,

A dark week for Europe, and rather difficult to focus on production work in the last few days. We've seen history twisted and weaponised by the Russian President, and a cold-blooded invasion of the sort I'm more used to writing about in WW2 documentary scripts. But work does continue...

First of all, we've released new merch in the store. These include a map of Justinian's Empire, and 3 maps by the talented cartographer Sasha Trubetskoy, showing Roman roads in the style of modern transit maps. I hope some of you will be tempted, and of course all Patrons receive store discounts, either 10 or 30% depending on your tier.  Get in touch if you've lost the code!

Belisarius Part 5 will be out on Patreon on 12th March. It's another episode packed full of  drama, but also another grim one... the working title is 'End of the  World'!

I will then move on to the final episode of the Belisarius series, followed by the 1848 video.

Then *new announcement* I will be releasing a two-part series about Russia's Decembrist Revolt of 1825. I've been working on this for some time with research support from friends of the channel in Moscow, and it should be a very interesting series. For those that aren't familiar with the topic, a group of idealistic Russian army officers (mostly veterans of the Napoleonic Wars) attempted to put Russia on the path to becoming a liberal parliamentary democracy by launching a military coup in St.Petersburg. We'll explore the background, course and aftermath of the revolt.

As promised, we will THEN be returning to the career of a certain Corsican general.. I will be holding TWO votes to help me choose a topic for a one-off episode, and a limited series. More news in due course.

For those eagerly anticipating the video on HMS Victory, this remains 'on the stocks', to use naval parlance, and apologies for the delays. It's a very technically challenging project, but we will get there in the end..

Thank you all for your inspiring support for this channel, it is hugely appreciated. And don't forget that I am always available to answer any question from any Patron, either by message or here in the comments.

Hi Toby, just curious. What sources did you use for the Napoleon: Endgame video?

EpicHistoryTV

Hi Yatty. Lots! Andrew Roberts, Charles Esdaile, David Chandler for big picture stuff, Nafziger's 'The End of Empire' for operational detail, orders of battle etc, and memoirs of Caulaincourt and Macdonald for details on the last days and the abdication. Those would be the most important ones.
