Dear Patrons,

I've created a compilation video of all 6 episodes of Napoleon's Marshals - 3 hours of video, 23,000 words of script! You can watch it now on YouTube - it goes live later this afternoon. (Obviously there's no Patreon charge for compilation videos).

I also thought I'd share a few sneak peeks at the new Vitoria video (very much still work-in-progress, though you can admire the lovely battlefield map courtesy of HistoryMarche channel):

Finally, for those who don't do social media, there's been a number of new releases in the Epic History TV merch shop recently, including the Manga Marshals range, and this Napoleonic Marshals poster:

Don't forget the discount code which many of you will be entitled to as a Patreon supporter!

That's all for the moment, hope you enjoy the weekend wherever you may be.

Best,

Toby

Napoleon's Marshals (All Parts)

In 1804 Napoleon created 18 'Marshals of the Empire', to serve as the senior officers of the Grande Armée. He created a further 8 before his abdication in 1814. A few were aristocrats, but others were the sons of shopkeepers or tailors. The most favoured became princes and kings. Among their ranks were legendary figures such as Marshals Lannes, Ney, Soult, Davout and Masséna, but also less well know figures like Pérignon, Brune and Moncey. Our series explores the lives of all 26 Marshals, and ranks them according to our own judgement of their achievements as Marshals. Good afternoon Toby! Is today the release of The Battle of Victoria video for Patreon supporters?

Toby, I wanted to say how much of an impact this series had on me. I’m a serving officer in the US and the Army is a bureaucracy now. It took your presentation of this period of history with its merit based valor and combat leadership to really inspire me and reignite my passion to my profession which I lost somewhere in the last 9 years. I just came back from a week long trip to Paris, I spent two days at Les Invalids visiting the Emperor, and an entire afternoon at Pere Lachaise Cemetery finding most of the Marshals’ resting places. I paid respects to my favorite Marshal, Marshal Lannes, at the Pantheon all while reading a biography of him. Before I left I made sure to pick up my own Baton at La Boutique Napoleon of course. Vive L’Emperuer! Thanks a lot! I’m a proud patron!

Thank you Hisham, that's great to hear. Last time I was in Paris I stumbled across Marshal Lannes' tomb in Montmartre Cemetery, he's right next to Edgar Degas! Thanks for your support!
