here is my edited reaction to doctor who season 1 episode 3 "the unquiet dead!"

What I like most about dr. Who is, that they have one framework, with a few rules and characters and they ask different writers and directors to tell a story in this world. This results is a lot of creative and sometimes wierd stories, all very different. There are some recurring seeds / easter eggs about one bigger story arc. I hope you will notice them during this season.

I played Charles DIckens and Scrooge in an original production of A Christmas Carol that depicted the reality how DIckens and his family would perform the story themselves publicly. He was not a Scrooge type himself, no. A navvy is an unskilled laborer. It's short for "navigator" as in a person who built inland waterways (called navigations). Billie Piper was 23 at the time. £8 in 1869 is worth £1,200 today. Basically indentured servitude. But they did get room and board at least. "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, [Horatio], than are dreamt of in your philosophy" is Shakespeare. Dickens is quoting him. He omitted the name Horatio, which is the name of the person Hamlet was speaking to in that play.
