Another great and emotional episode and I and understand your dilemma about Nami's reasoning and choices. I had some of the same questions when I first saw this episode but I know now the 'end scene' has been taken directly from the Anime and was a very big moment in the original series. Now up to the finale episode and I can't wait for your reaction to it. btw. Gold Roger was the former king of the pirates that was 'executed' in scene 1 of episode 1.

there are some great stories in one piece but the anime is insanely poorly done. i dunno if the manga did as bad of a job at pacing things out but there are some typical anime time wasting elements. like throwing in a ticking clock "5 minutes until X" and that will be literally hours of watch time later and a lot of the time filled with annoyingly pointless filler scenes. I find myself skimming through episodes at times and i skip the 4-6 minute intro and recap section and the credits to try and shave the 24 minute episodes down to about 18 or so minutes to save some time. because you add up all that wasted time on recaps and intros over 1000 episodes..... holy cow. i would wait to see how the rebooted anime goes typically when they do something like this its to trim the fat and make it flow better. you could probably condense the anime down into 300 episodes of actual good flowing solid story. thats not how anime works though. its about wasting viewers time to get to the few good bits. as much as i prefer long form content i look at something like cowboy bebop where each episode was basically a self contained story and i feel that anime is much more solid since it had to tell the whole story at once so no real dragging out of things. yet that live action gave each story twice the screen time and tried to add season long narrative and just did everything wrong
