AMAZING to see obi-wan again and also the death of maul???? what a big episode. really looking forward to the finale next!

The first time I watched this episode I was a little surprised by how short the last duel of Kenobi and Maul was too. I highly recommend watching an interview that's on youtube, the guy who did the voice for Maul, Sam Witwer. He talks about Maul's perspective in that fight right up to the end. There's actually a lot more going on there than I realized. Now it's one of my favorite scenes in all of Rebels.

I feel like this obi Wan by Stephen Stanton is like the perfect mix of Ewan McGregor and Alec Guiness, a little more on Guiness's side. About the "avenge us" line, Nobody has hurt Maul more than Palpatine. not even Kenobi himself. So defeating the empire is his ultimate revenge. for me, This is one of my favourite lightsaber fights in SW. It's fascinating because Obi Wan actually baits Maul by using the same stance that Qui Gon used when Maul killed him. Maul used the same move as he did back then on Obi Wan but Obi Wan had a counter. That's why the fight was so short

Very symbolic that Maul's story started and ended on Tatooine. While the fight was short, there's some pretty cool symbolic reasoning behind that.. Obi Wan switched his lightsaber form to Qui Gon's. He baited Maul into using the same technique that killed his master and he knew exactly how to counter it. And as you mentioned it was pretty vague when he asked about the "Chosen One". In summary the prophecy states that the "Chose One" will defeat the Sith and bring balance. So when Maul says "he will avenge us", he is in fact referring to Obi Wan (maybe the Jedi as a whole), and himself. Maul is a dark side user but he is not a Sith. The Sith exist as two, a master and an apprentice aka Sidious and Vader. He was betrayed by the Sith, more specifically Sidious. Some also like to also he is referring to his brother Savage Opress who was killed by Sidious in the Clone Wars.

Sam Witwer (Maul's voice actor) had a really good discussion on Collider about the final showdown that's worth a watch. Searching "Sam Witwer Twin Suns" on YT will find it.

The fight was so short since obi wan used qui gons style from the phantom menance and made maul use the same attack he used against qui gon. Thus obi wan cut through it when maul when to do the upward smack.
