2023-02-23 04:05:22 So Rebels takes place simultaneously with Andor both set 5 years before A New Hope. Rebels spans 4/5 years so the show will surpass the events of Andor so who knows maybe Season 2 of Andor will tie more into Rebels highlighting the birth of the Rebellion and Andor joining the greater Rebellion. EP5 of Andor did have a Rebels Easter Egg where the ISB within the ISB meeting room mentioned Rebel events happening on Lothal this being the planet featured in these episodes home to Ezra Bridger. The goal of Rebels is to highlight the fact that there's many different rebellions happening throughout the galaxy all building up to The Rebel Alliance an alliance of many different Rebel groups and cells under a single united faction. In Rebels we follow a single Rebel cell but over time the show will get larger in scale showing the growing support for the rebellion until we get to a point that match's what we see in A New Hope and Rogue One. Rogue One has a few Rebel Easter eggs but I'll not mention them for spoiler reasons. All I can say is in Rogue One you can hear a intercom at Yavin IV mentioning a characters name along with the appearance of a certain Droid in the background in Yavin IV. There's also an appearance of a ship in the background of the Space Battle at the end of Rogue One. You can maybe guess what and who I'm talking about. The Art Style pulls heavily from Ralph McQuarrie's concept art for the original Trilogy and in my opinion Rebels has the most retro sci fi look out of any Star Wars project. Would love to see this done with a higher budget combine the Rebels art style with Disney Plus money would be amazing as this show had a much smaller budget compared to Clone Wars. What I love about this series is how it drew from Star Wars media at the time. For example Season 3 pulled heavily from elements introduced in Rogue One which released like 4 months before the Season in 2016. Of course there's no Sequel connections for timeline reasons but it's cool how Dave and the team pulled from Rogue One while also pulling from the Extended Universe as well. Timeframe: Revenge of the Sith - 19 BBY Bad Batch - 19 BBY Kenobi - 9 BBY Andor - 5 BBY Rebels - 5 BBY to 1 BBY (Seasons move closer to A New Hope) <--------------- Here Rogue One - 0 BBY (Days before A New Hope) A New Hope - 0 BBY

Going from clone wars to rebels can be rough but I think it’s worth it. It’s worth remembering that this was the first piece of Disney Star Wars. Disney laid off a bunch of the clone wars staff, cut their budget in half and gave them less than half the time to make each episode compared to clone wars. Despite this, I think the lucasarts animation team still put out a solid show that i really enjoy.
