Season 1 of Torchwood aired before S3 of Doctor Who so it's fully safe to watch, as it was the original intended watch order.

I love this cliffhanger, it's one of my favourites in any show ever. I've come to realise the way they spoil the cyberman reveal near the start of the episode is genius, because it lulls the audience into thinking that it's just a cyberman story. Normally I'd be mad that they showed cybermen so early and ruined the mystery, but in retrospect it's such a good choice to give the Dalek reveal way more punch because the audience has already had half an hour to get used to the Cybermen being back

Also, as an 8 year old on release, this episode was all anyone in the school playground was talking about for the whole week, the way it blew every kids tiny mind in 2006 lol
