Ok, that jerk Malthus is close-up on pages 47 and 48. He has four ring pierces on his left ear, and a tragus stud (that's the flappy bit that can close the ear canal if you push on it.) So that's Stryder-grump, then a starry silhouette of Adrian Lafayette, then Al-smirk... but no bar piercing yet. And the red thread is a classic trope, indicating love binding two people together, and it happens to be wrapped around their necks where the demon-binding collars go. INTERESTING.
