I rarely share the first steps to a page I'm working on because they're the things most likely to change by the time I'm done inking, but I thought you'd like a peek at the process anyway (about 6 mins 30 seconds)!

Dialogue and position of word balloons tends to be tweaked up until the last minute so I can make sure it's the best possible fit for what the character's emoting and what it is I'm trying to convey to the reader. Using a font would be a heck of a lot faster, but I just love the look and feel of hand lettering so much I can't give it up!

When I first start writing dialogue I shake my wrist out and loosen up by writing the first couple lines and erasing them right after, in case you were wondering what that's about, haha. I also end up shifting dialogue and characters within the panels to better fit with how the word balloons will read. 

It's not the most interesting part of making a page, but it's definitely one of the more important parts! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و
