It's so illuminating to watch you draw. My eyes of course normally just 'see' the whole finished images, because of all the unconscious processing that my brain does to just extract the intended visual meaning. The fact that I don't notice the craft behind all of it is a testament to your skill. It seems parallel to my experience as a phonetics teacher, where so much of my job is to help students learn to hear the actual, physical noises that their mouths produce, instead of just the abstract words.
