Pg 278 - Destined for the Cutting Room Floor (Patreon)

Welcome to another edition of "This Scene Doesn't Really Work Anymore So I'm Cutting It" with your host, Asmo! (•̀o•́)ง 

So this scene has been in the script for years now, and I originally liked it because it was a closer look into Peta and Iblin's friendship and how much they rely on each other in a place that neither want to be. Ultimately though, after letting this page sit and stew for a few days, I decided it's not really jiving with me anymore. It doesn't add much story-wise and ends up extending this scene by just a beat too long, but more importantly, I think it weakens the prior scene with Iblin's acceptance of Malki's kindness. This page ends up pulling Iblin back into this sad, sorry state of mind that we'd just seen him climb out of, and I think that brief moment with Malki should be given a little more weight than this page implies. 

Trashing a page I've already lettered and laid out kinda sucks, because of the time I've already put into it, but I also would rather eat that time if it means the overall story is stronger for it. ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ Just goes to show, a script that I've had on paper for years can still be tweaked when it comes to how these characters grow in the actual pages, and I've got so much to learn yet! ✧٩(•́⌄•́๑)
