First Update Chapter Two (Patreon)

Let me start off by saying wow. Y'all have blown me away with your support, and the readership we've had in just three days is by far more than I ever could've hoped for. I can never thank you enough for having faith in our project.

Chapter One was about 19.3k words long. I'm aiming for Chapter 2 to be in the realm of 14k to 15k. A little shorter, but also a little bit more focused and fleshed out, now that Cody's life has 'kinda' stabilized.

Drewzy is currently designing and working on the ref sheet for Devon, the next character of Aldric's friend group that will be introduced in chapter 2. We're going through some discussions regarding color for him at the moment. Attaching two headshots for him as we work out his color scheme. Survivalists and Mountaineers will see the full ref sheet once it's completed.

HAPS will then be making the sprite for Devon. HAPS will as well design the character and create the sprite for a yet to be named character who will have a minor appearance in Chapter Two, but far greater in future Chapters. Additionally we will be adding some expressions for both Aldric and Vincet. As well as potentially a new pose for Vinny.

HYENABLOOD will be unifying the UI for Chapter 2, doing away with the rest of RenPy default. The options menu, dialogue boxes, as well as creating a 'hub' menu for the bonus section, rather than being dumped straight into the gallery.

As far as writing I'm continuing to flesh out the scenes, and the introduction of our first main path choice in the novel.  The writing is going at a good pace and for the most part the timeline for Patreon EA to Chapter 2 will depend on the timeline I receive from my team for the new visual assets, as there shouldn't be to much in the way of added new code function for Chapter 2.

The biggest code thing I want to get done for Chapter 2, if I can wrangle it timewise. The implementation of the journal system. Entries written by Cody that give further insight to how he sees events that are going on, while not being straight recaps. They will include sketches mentioned during the narrative (like the two seen in the gallery), as well as a codex potentially cataloguing characters you meet, locations, etc.
