hey guys! i've got some updates for yall on the art front and patreon front! :}

to make a long story short, i know i said i'd be deleting patreon and moving tiered support to ko-fi only after i finished my final rewards double-batch (it's done and coming in just a few minutes!), but after talking it over with a couple of confidants and getting some sound advice, i've decided to hold onto my patreon after all and just do a 'soft-relaunch', just restructuring tiers to match my upcoming ko-fi ones. more avenues for support won't hurt

what changed for you pepper? a few things!
-my primary concern was crypto with patreon. i was satisfied (for now) by the results of the creator census which showed how anti-crypto the userbase is
-i've also heard feedback from a number of people who aren't interested in supporting on other sites because they prefer to do their one artist support bill per month here on patreon and not fuss with other sites to subscribe to artists (understandable!) and i know there are plenty of potential future supporters who would feel the same. this is a way of not shutting out people who stick to one site
-finally, patreon pays me directly instead of through a third party such as paypal, meaning fees tend to hurt a bit less, especially as i'm on the Founders plan. paypal keeps raising their fees, sometimes multiple times a year, so if i have the means to avoid paypal eating up at least some of my art earnings i should take the chance

what does this mean for me and other patrons? pretty much tiers will either be changed or removed. the biggest change is unfortunately that i will be closing my monthly reward sketch tiers for the foreseeable future so i can choose which months i do an do not take on commissioned work. the lowest tiers will have to be bumped up too, since i see only pennies of the $1 tier. overall i'm thinking a maximum of 3 tiers will exist:

  • $3 = tip jar. full res finished art etc same as my current tip jar tier. monthly supporters on both sites will get first dibs on commissions
  • $7 = above + process content, sketches/WIP, etc. i'm still looking at opening an art hub discord as a way to distribute my content for folks who prefer discord, and if i should do private art streams through there, $7+ would have access to those as it counts as process
  • $15 = super supporter!? above + commission discount, any downloadable content such as PSDs, brushes/assets etc

probably still have some stuff to iron out, but this is the meat of it. if you have the means and choose to stick around for the relaunch in some shape or form, i appreciate you so much! and if you can't swing it, i appreciate you so much too for your support on my patreon's first chapter. i cannot thank you all enough for being here at any point!
