a special treat for me! ChuKazoo passed me the sculptris project they made of their character nullen to try retopo/rigging! it's been a hot second since i did anything in 3D and i wasn't feeling sculpting, but i was feeling the other stuff (probably weird as an artist, to lean towards the technical side of things over the more artistic sculpting side but...i want practice! and topology is a puzzle both frustrating and satisfying so...!!) i threw some placeholder materials on for visual but none of these colors are final. i plan to UV/texture paint him after he's rigged and functional

i made a lot of progress but before i can step into rigging and UV territory i got a few annoying steps left. i still have some points i want to mash around/clean up, might give the hair a second retopo pass, i gotta model the inside of his mouth, and i have to decide how i want to approach the eyelids. but this is what i got up to yesterday and the day before!
