This was great. Band of Brothers does bring out a lot of emotions. Just thinking of all the things these people went through and had to do, and then imagining ourselves or our loved ones in those situations. The empathy of putting ourselves in their shoes, it's a lot. It's a great series but it can be so tough to watch at points. Sorry for the long post below. Captain Winters and Captain Nixon's friendship is kind of funny, they're like the odd couple, they have nothing in common and yet they're good friends. About your question about where all the explosions are coming from at the end of the battle, it's coming from artillery both American, and then German. When Winters is on the radio he calls in reinforcements and then he's calling in an artillery strike on the germans in the open in front of them. So several miles away, a bunch of American artillery crews aim their artillery to the map coordinates that Winters told them to fire at (artillery are modern cannons essentially). So those first explosions are coming from American artillery many miles away. Then the Germans do the exact same thing and hit Easy Company with their own artillery also many miles away. So yeah it was artillery both American then German that made those explosions not airplanes. The Germans they killed in this episode were called the "SS". The SS were kind of like Hitler's personal army, a little different from the rest of the German army, the SS committed a lot of war crimes and atrocities. A lot of the really fanatical or zealous Nazis where in the SS. However, the SS also drafted and conscripted other Europeans by force. So by the end of the war the SS was a mix of really fanatical nazis and other Europeans who didn't want to be there. Hence Easy Company capturing a bunch of Polish guys in this episode. Yeah that was Jimmy Fallon he was still on SNL when this came out. Apparently he's actually a descendant of the guy he plays, which is kind of cool. The guy with blue eyes in Lieutenant Buck Compton, and yeah he's going through it. Also when you hear them say the word "armor", that means tanks. At the end of this episode they say that the Germans have launched a large attack with "Panzer" divisions. "Panzer" is the german word for tank. A Division is about 10,000 to 15,000 soldiers. So a Panzer Division means hundreds German tanks and thousands of German soldiers. So Easy Company and the rest of the 101st Airborne division are in for a real fight.

At the start of the episode we see Winters shoot that young man. It must be hard to take any life, but someone young like that, it's someone's son. I'm sure there were people out there that loved him, and now he's taken that from them. He must think about things like that, I know I would. I like what you said about Winters, that he's thorough, that he's precise and that's what makes him such a great leader. That scene when he's on the train and he begins to have flashbacks, that must be so scary seeing stuff like that, reliving it over and over, everyone around him just going about their day while he's walking around with all that in his head. Even when the fighting stops it's never really over, not for people like him, it must just feel like a constant battle in his mind. I could only imagine how mentally exhausted he must feel. I love the jumper you were wearing, I wonder if that's the Alice In Wonderland one you were talking about. I know I say it a lot, but you look really beautiful Imon, you always do. I loved your talk at the end of the video, you talked about your boys a little and about how men can't show emotions sometimes but it's good when we do. You said "I believe that everyone should be able to show emotions and let things out and just live present and try your best to do that because it helps keep all that rage from going all over the place." I love how you said because of your boys you're trying to understand what it's like to be a man. You said "It just seems that there's definitely a different weight to being a man." I don't know you Imon, not really but you are such a great mother. The fact that you're trying to understand what it's like to be a man so you can help your boys in someway, to help them grow, it's beautiful. I've said it so many times and I will say it a thousand more. You're beautiful Imon, in every sense of the word. <3
