Yes, you can visit Culloden today and the battle was there. Sad place.

I love this series, if you never chose to watch this I wouldn't be watching it right now, so thank you. I always wait until you post the reaction before watching this series, so I have no idea what's gonna happen. I can't wait to watch season three with you. This episode has to be one of the best I've seen, there's a lot to cover with this one, too much for one comment anyway. I loved that scene where Claire visits her and Jamie's home, Lallybroch. That line that Claire says "Come and let us live my dear, let us love and never fear" and then Jamie says "Then let amorous kisses dwell on our lips, begin and tell a thousand, and a hundred score, a hundred, and a thousand more". I can't believe Claire hasn't seen Jamie in 20 years. I've been alone most my life now, I'm not that good in social situations so it's hard meeting people, I've never been in love before so I can't imagine what it would feel like not seeing your one true love for all that time. Claire really does have such a heartbreaking story, they both do. When Jamie gets Claire to safety towards the end of the episode and tells her he knows she's pregnant, he says "Sassenach, you have not been a day late in your courses in all the time since ye first took me to yer bed, but it's been two months now". Then Claire says "You kept track, in the middle of this bloody war, you kept track". Then you said "He knows". I love how much you love Jamie, the type of man he is, what he stands for. I don't know if you are single Imon, but if you are, I hope you find your Jamie someday, he'd be lucky to have you. <3

It's easy for us to look at the way Brianna is acting and be annoyed by it because we've seen this entire story from the beginning. But to any other person it would sound absolutely crazy and she's a 20 year old who doesn't know really anything about life so of course she's going to have a different viewpoint and reaction to her entire world essentially being flipped upside down.

This is one of my top favorite episodes along with the next few coming up. Such a rollercoaster of emotions!

Hi Imon, God I love this show and so happy to watch these early seasons again with you. Thank you! I am in total agreement with you regarding Dougal. He was going to kill Jamie and most likely Claire so they had no choice but to defend themselves. I also agree that they did a great job of casting the actress, Sophie Skelton, to play Brianna. I just have one tiny nitpick that she doesn’t have blue eyes. In the books, Claire says she can always find him in a crowd because he’s so much taller than everyone else. Also in the books, Brianna is almost 6’ tall with blue eyes just like her father. They say that all the time, but this actress has brown eyes. Again, it’s just a nitpick of mine. Otherwise she is brilliant!! When Jamie revealed that he knew Claire was pregnant, you were distracted by the thought that he kept track of her period and you missed a very beautiful and tender moment between them before they got on the horse to take Claire to the stones and I hope you went back and watched it. That’s the problem with this show. So many amazing things happen that catch us off guard and then we miss something. When Claire and Jamie were at the stones, the show runners were trying to figure out how to get Claire to the stones when she didn’t want to go, so they decided to make it like a dance with Jamie holding her and leading her closer and closer. He also gave her a ring that belonged to his father and when Claire returned to her time, the ring was missing the jewel because it’s needed to travel. Also, Jamie mentions that he will spend 200 years in purgatory looking for her if he must and that made a lot of people once again believe it was his ghost looking up at her in the first episode. In 1968. Claire finally said goodbye to Jamie at the headstone after 20 years only to find out that he didn’t die at Culloden and that makes her more upset at the thought that maybe she could’ve gone back to him sooner, but all this time she believed Jamie died as soon as he went back to the battlefield. And I swear she looks so much like Jackie Kennedy in 1968. I can’t wait to start S3 with you. I’m almost caught up with you.

I think this is my favorite episode of the series. 1968 is such a climax year of the series. Claire about Jamie: "... so for 20 years, I haven’t uttered his name out loud." From 1948-1968 in Boston, Claire never uttered Jaime's name out loud. Brianna is pretty. Good riddance Dougal. I like the actor but not the character. I am not saying I necessarily wanted Dougal dead, but glad he is out of the picture.
