See, England was primarily Protestant and Scotland was Catholic, so when the protestants deposed the Catholic Scottish king and started treating Scotland like an occupied state, so they felt they had some pretty good reason to want to put a Stuart back on the throne. The Jacobite risings didn't consist just of Scots, but of the English as well, Catholics and Stuart loyalists alike. So if you are Scottish and Catholic, you wouldn't even question it, God wanted a Stuart back on the throne to restore the Church back to England, and that was that! ;) The French experience is so different than Scotland for a lot of reasons. One, it's Paris, a massive city with a lot more wealth and education, probably the most modern city of it's time and considered the capital of luxury and art. While Scotland was very remote and mostly rural, even now. Scotland and France are both primarily Catholic, but the attitude and culture make all the difference in the Church's influence.

The Costume designer wanted for Claire to always be like a fish out of water with the outfits Claire would have had made. She was a woman of the 40s and the black and white outfit is an 18th C Outlander adaptation of the famous Christian Dior 1940s 'bar suit'.

I love it when you say "Take me back to Scotland", I often think of moving back there myself, I live in England at the moment and sometimes I think of just saving up and moving back there, finding somewhere really beautiful, peaceful to live. If I could just find that balance of nature and a place to live, somewhere really beautiful with mountains in the background a river or lake nearby and beautiful green grass as far as the eye can see, with some horses running around, and that house that you spoke of in one of your videos. One of those houses with the patio porch thing that goes around it, you said you wish you could live in a house like that. I imagine that would be a great place to live.

Caitriona Balfe has said about the French Red dress that it was very difficult on set because she had trouble sitting in it and it was so wide that she had to walk sideways a lot. There is even a moment when they first arrive at court that she walks in the door sideways. They had Outlander costumes on display in LA a few years ago and the red dress was front and center. They actually displayed quite a bit of the dresses and men’s garments from France because they were so detailed and intricate. I personally would rather see Jamie in his kilt

I enjoyed the Paris episodes of season 2. Dougal worships the dolt Prince Charles.
