Poor Denji. He is so naive - he grew up alone, being exploited by the mafia. He’s completely unsocialised. His idea of a ‘dream’ is 3 meals a day, a bath and a nice bed. He compared himself to the mafia with ‘wanting more’, but all Denji wanted were the basic necessities! So to get these, he moved from one kind of slavery to another - still under threat of death, but he’s so used to that he barely notices. So now he’s fed and bathed, next thing is girls! He’s your basic horny teen but with zero social skills. And he’s lost his only friend. Denji is so different from most manga main characters. He has no big goals, didn’t volunteer for this life. He just wants his very small dream.
