I wish we saw a bit more struggle from the protagonist in the final showdown. In the og Predator, Arnie was getting pummeled by the thing, same as Danny Glover in Predator 2. Yet somehow, a hundred pound girl with no noticeable muscle mass is somehow able to go toe to toe with a seven foot tall killing machine and has hardly any problems. The movie is slightly above mediocre in my opinion but it’s better than the last Predator movie. Not as good as the original movies though.

I will say that she has probably been training her whole life to be a warrior, She goes out into the woods and really hones in on her skills and abilities. I really don't think it is quite unbelievable. She doesn't defeat the Predator with strength but uses her body, speed and smarts to get ahead of him. She is small and very fast Arnie is a big guy who probably went full force at him with his brute strength. She couldn't do that, if she did she would have been obliterated. She had to fight him like a lion who comes in sneakily and quickly.

Since you loved the cinematography in this, got to the miniseries on Paramount + 1883. The cinematography in that is beautiful and best written television show from last year. Great cast as well. Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, LaMonica Garrett, and Isabel May. Also, has some A-list movie star cameos in it as well.

That’s true, but I guess I wanted to see more desperation during the sequence. The whole time I felt that there weren’t any real stakes, sure, I worried about the dog, but the protagonist never actually took any damage. My point is that Arnie, with all his strength wasn’t a match, barely winning by the skin of his teeth by pure luck and ingenuity like in this movie. He came out of the experience a traumatized person from what he saw, but here, she kills the predator and there’s hardly any change in her character. She feels happy and accomplished, not scared or worried about the knowledge that beings far stronger than her are out there.

Just thought it went with the western setting of the last two films and that just finished Stranger Things recently which had Jaime Campbell Bower in it as Vecna.
