Community 3x3 - "Competitive Ecology" Chang is Dangerous! Reaction/Analysis

I have given Chang many chances during these reactions, but the man is really out of his mind, and not in a good way! I really go into his mental decline in the after discussion/analysis. Community is a show that really brightens my day when I watch it but this episode definitely was on the darker side of the spectrum. Even the group was extra toxic this episode. But I guess that is life. You move forward in your healing but have really bad days, weeks, or months and take several steps backwards. I still really enjoyed this episode! I feel like... and I'm gonna be honest here... I agree with you that Abed was not in the wrong with the drink throwing situation, but I don't think I agree completely with why. I understand the room needs to be made for people on the spectrum, and other people with all types of differences, but the other people only know what they know. If that man just looked at Abed as any other person, he's not considering the idea that he should be making additional allowances for him, or anyone for that matter, unless the information is provided to him... or it's very obvious. I don't blame him for treating Abed like any other person. ... And I know you're not saying that he should be treated differently either. It's obviously more complicated than that, and perhaps the concept should be applied to ALL people just in case... or just because having room for social mistakes should just be considered normal anyway... but I think it's difficult for other people that are not in the same mindset that you are currently (as someone that has recently found more about who you are and are on a journey to understanding the new information and what it means to you) to see with that type of lens. Most people just see what they see. That guy probably just saw another guy leading him on. But I'm coming at this from the perspective of my own tunnel vision. I'm fully aware that I may be coming off as ignorant... my own very limited experience with life. Fully admit I am wrong CONSTANTLY. All that being said... Abed was in the right the whole time anyway. Man or woman, old or young, on spectrum or not, it's never wrong to just have a conversation with someone that initiated conversation with you... and you shouldn't have to preface every conversation with "oh btw im not gonna have sex with you". I am in complete and total agreement with you there.

Big agree with this. Most people in everyday life don't deal with autistic people or people who maybe don't pick up on social cues as well as they should and so yeah they can only take things at face value.

That is a better way to look at it, I assumed everyone knew he was on the spectrum lol. Thats how my brain works sometimes, tunnel vision. But either way people shouldn't treat people that way on the spectrum or not.
