I think Kuvira was/is right to a point, obviously invading cities crosssed the line but when she took up power and did something to help the people it was fine.

Yes. She crosses the line a lot, but you can't deny the various villages and towns around the Earth Kingdom needed help. None of Republic City, Su and Zhaofu or people at Ba Sing Se stepped up to help them . The Air Nomads tried but there's only so many of them and the Earth Kingdom is bloody huge. Someone had to help, and that person was Kuvira. Like i said, she definitely crosses too many lines, and she is letting the power get to her head, but i understand why she chose to do what she did initially.

Honestly wanting Korra to just resort to violence ruins the spirit of her growth. It took her so long to realize she can't just force her way through every situation and that sometimes talking is whats needed. Shes finally fit into role as avatar, trying to bring balance and not just through fighting

One thing about Korra is that she's never liked the idea of war. So while she has always been ready to throw down, any time she felt that fighting might lead to war, she's always relented and looked for less violent solutions.
