I'm excited about the podcast, my favorite part of the reactions has been listening to you guys share your thoughts on life.

Thank you for the vulnerability and honesty when you don’t have to share that stuff at all. Bojack is definitely the kind of show that can make that happen. Still so much to come and even more great discussions.

Discussion longer than the episode. Amazing lol.

Yall don't need to apologize for the long deep/heartfelt talks. I thoroughly enjoy hearing all of your thoughts on the show and how you process it with your own personal experiences and trauma. We all can get something out of this show, art speaks to each person differently

I just realized that the really dark story Ana tells Bojack reminded me of the crazy Santa Claus story in Gremlins. On a more serious note I love this episode and your discussion at the end was great.

Really great discussion as always, Its understandable not wanting to go too much into personal details and into your family business. I really appreciate how honest and vulnerable you are with what you both share. This show and its lessons can feel like therapy with the themes it addresses. We have our trauma that shapes who we are and how we interact with the world. Todd is right to confront Bojack and make him know he needs to be accountable for his own life and decisions. Just feeling bad about things doesn't make up for them or make it better. Every season there is one "Fuck" that usually signifies the change or breaking point in a relationship. S1 was his last meeting with Herb; S2 Charlotte catching Bojack with her daughter; now its Todd moving on from Bojack and removing himself from his toxic behaviors. I can relate to Todd here as well as Abi with how you want to help people but can't until they learn to help themselves. I had to come to a tough realization that all the help I was giving someone who was going through a rough situation was only enabling them, Preventing them from hitting rock bottom and making necessary changes in their life because they were comfortable falling back on my support. As much as it hurt to do I had to cut myself off for their betterment and not continue to enable them. Thank you for sharing your background and situation growing up Imon. Though I'm not Iranian i feel like I can relate a lot to what you expressed. I'm of Guyanese decent but grew up in a strict upbringing partly due to being Muslim and partly because my father was bipolar and an alcoholic. My mother shows her love in her own way but open affection is not our normal as both of you shared as well. We didn't grow up hugging or saying i love you either. It can be a painful disconnect to deal with as you get older and realize how isolated and different your upbringing feels compared to what's "normal." I also relate to coming to understand and accept things as they are as our parents have their own trauma and pain that shaped them and why they seem unable to see our perspective on how these things affect us and why they are too stuck in their ways to show any change or progress.

thank you for this post episode discussion

Dune

The whole "Don't let your trauma control you" is an important thing to keep in mind for all of us. I personally was not a good person to someone I really loved and I always tried to blame my issues on someone else except me but now I've taken a look myself to ask "Am I the problem in this situation?" so that I can avoid further failed relationships and it's been really helping me. Yeah bojack's parents were trash and that really molded him as a person, but how long can you use that as an excuse and let that turn into it's just how I am? I'm really glad todd called him out on his shit. SN: I'm hyped for that podcast. I listen to podcasts weekly so I'm always excited about adding a new one to my list.

we're almost there!

Its ame mario

The following 2 episodes are super rough. The 2nd to last episode of each season is always just existential dread.

Note to self: Remember the line "We need a mom season".
