Everytime I rewatch book 2 I'm always surprised at how good it is compared to how people talk about it. Are there valid nitpicks? Sure, but the same can be said of book 1. Unalaq is defintely not the most compelling antagonist in the world, but is honestly quite funny with how overtly camp his brand of evil is. Love these reactions, can't wait for season 3

Honestly, it's mostly the first half of book 2 that's bad, or at least, i feel like that's the part of the season specifically that people are referring to when they call this whole season bad. Everything from the Wan episodes onwards of Book 2 is good imo, though like you said, there's still some nitpicks here and there. But the first half is just...bleh.

Bumi gets MVP here for sure. After the way he took down the camp with his flute i believe all his war stories. I think with the spirits there's always a possibility they could break out of you changing them. It happened to Korra too with the giant spirit that ate her.
