To your point, Korra is a very headstrong, willfull and at times hardheaded teenager. Her problem with Tenzin; her Dad and the White Lotus is she feels they have been holding her back and making decisions without her for her whole life. Unlike other Avatars that travelled the world she was literally locked up in that compound; remember she was even given grief at the gate in episode 1 just to take Nagga outside for a stroll. Ultimately she was told Aang wanted her guarded that way so she begrudgingly agreed. Unnaloq's first step in breaking her trust in her father and Tenzin was in the last episode when he revealed it was their decision; not Aangs. They lied to her to keep her isolated and haven't really gotten a chance to explain it beyond the idea that they thought it was best. I'm not in the crowd that thinks you shouldn't be able to compare ATLA to LOK but it does come with its biases. Alot of us feel Korra isn't as "Avatar like" as Aang but really its just that The Airbenders were the free-est nation. So she's really just not raised like an Airbender as he was. Also Aang looks a lot better in hindsight. We remember the moments of him being spiritual and wise. We forget how he ignored Jhong Jhong's training to be more patient until he burned Katara playing around with fire bending. Or refusing to listen to the Guru and finishing his chakra training until he was forced to attempt to finish it while fighting Zuko and Azula and got shot full of lightning for it.

Juniper And Sage

All the avatars we've seen have screwed something up badly. They're not infallible. That's one of the series' main themes.

Abi's "fuck" when shirtless Tonraq was revealed was priceless. I watch for honest reactions and you can't get much more honest than thirst.

Keep in mind, that Aang also had a very specific goal where the enemies and task were clear. There was less ambiguity in his overall goal, and he dealt with little nuances of civil interactions by using his air-bender teachings. He also had knowledge of the world before it went into war, while Korra was kept in captivity and is learning with only the knowledge people are giving her.

Dune

I never realized who that statue was. Interesting, but can I say abi being so done with korra is hilarious. I felt the same way going through the series, but I guess from korra's point of view i can sort of understand why she's like that. Being stuck at the south pole for all her life and just now finding out about the world and the fact that people close to her haven't been telling her everything. Plus in this situation I'm sure she feels like her training isn't going anywhere, she's upset with her dad and tenzin, and she feels like no one believes her and then here comes her uncle saying he can teach her something new and that he believes in her. She's still very much a child so it's very easy to sway her which is annoying. Like abi was saying, unalaq kept focusing on the aspect of "just go do it" instead of the actual steps of the training. It's so clear he's in a rush to get the portal open and korra just believes his reasoning like that. Korra as an avatar wants to fast track through everything even though there's no real threat the world, compared to aangs story where the whole fire nation was a constant threat to the entire world so it would seem like she would want to take her time with things but instead she's just like fuck it.
