Really cool theories, ladies! I'm looking forward to you seeing what the show turns out to be and the journey the characters go on. I liked Re:Zero when I watched it, though I do have questions I'll raise once you're further along (want to avoid spoilers).

The reason why the protagonist is calm and understanding about being transported to another world is because this subgenre is used a lot in anime, it's called Isekai. The protagonist is a weeb so he knows of this subgenre and went along with what he knew from manga/anime. You can search up more about "Isekai" if you want to understand what he was thinking when he was transported, I don't believe this would spoil you guys. Hope this helped

There are so many Isekai, and they're so generic and bland and boring that this entire show was created to mock Isekai, and the people who watch them.
