You can skip episode 13.5 since it's just a recap of the first half of season 1. Nice reaction as always.

You're watching the TV versions of the episodes which are kinda not finished products so they have little cutscenes that aren't in the episodes. For example in the actual episode when that titan swoops down to eat Jean, Annie lands on it and pushes it to the ground which saves Jean. Meanwhile in yours it just cut away and didn't show anything so you didn't know how Jean got out of there. I'd recommend finding a different site to watch the episodes on like kissanime or buying the blu ray dvd's so you don't end up missing anything else.

Netflix has the blu ray version of the anime. That scene at 3:50 is fully animated up there. Your other option is kissanime (labeled 1080p on kiss). The other major paid services does not have this scene.

Last thing I have zero idea why that part was purple that copy you guys are watching might be a little more faulty than it just being the t.v. version.

So we are watching it on crunchyroll. I am not sure why it was being weird there, but people don't want us to watch it on Netflix because of the subs and kissanime isn't a site we want to use for reactions.. so I am not sure

There were a few messed up scenes in this episode because the production for season 1 couldn't get everything finished in time for release. The studio was kinda all over the place in season 1 and it took them a while to get their shit together. Scenes like the ground turning purple and a few frames completely missing from the Jean rescue scene (someone posted the link above me) were eventually fixed for the blu-ray release. There's a couple messed up scenes in season 2 as well. If you have the money (or you're cool with finding a torrent) I really suggest watching the blu-ray version going forward!
