Let me know what you think about the new format. I really believe this is the safest way to go, and the next videos also won't have sound but you will see the subs. Toho is getting more strict...

Mitja Strajnar

I don't like it but if it makes less trouble for you… I hope you can do it some other way because it will not be the same feeling when actual tournament starts and I'll not be able to see what you are reacting to. I don't know why you have problems with copyright despite lowering sound and making video transparent but channel Samblance of Sanity does neither and has very few problems if any. Maybe they have some special recepie for cutting reactions so they don't get many strikes. Ask them

Flashzie

Honestly haven't been keeping up with what has been going on, I haven't caught up to this point of the show, but looking at the format I can't help but wonder why this would be a better solution than a timer. If this was no sound only subs, I feel like it would be pretty much an equivalent to a timer, except you wouldn't get the full episode and you have no option to sync up your own version, because there would be constant cuts. This may be a more personal note, but I also feel that the music in anime is one of the best parts about all these shows, and reliving those moments and seeing other people get excited with you is what I most look for in reactions. I honestly can't say it would feel even close to that with no sound. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this seems to be taking positives away while a timer would instead be giving them (with getting full length etc).

Niko

Im sorry to say but this is in my opinion by far the worst way to do reactions. I feel like you need to be able to see the anime for real impact even if youve already watched it. If youre not going to show the full screen then by adding just a timer i can at least watch the original episode next to your reaction. This way im just constantly trying to remember what the fuck is happening at this point without any possibility of syncing up the video cause you could be making a cut at any moment.

I don't like it :(

Nathan Grenawalt

I think this is a fine way to get around copyright strikes. The subtitles and enough of the show to know what is going on are shown, and the focus is on you guys - as it should be. We are here to watch you, not watch the episode, and so as long as we know what part it is at it should be fine. Thank you for trying to keep as much of the episode in as you can!

Mitja Strajnar

You know, timer is supposed to be an exclusive thing for patreons and it lowers their potential income if everyone can watch it. And not everyone is willing to pay extra for full length. Maybe there are some editing secrets or something that they are doing wrong or they just have bad luck. If it could stay as it was until now It would be perfect

Not sure if they will strike you for this, but maybe include a screen shot in important scenes. Like when Tsukki saw his brother.

Melissa Whitacre

I’m not thrilled about the new format but I do prefer it over just seeing the subtitles. The difficult thing about this too is that if we wanted to watch it along side you, because of the cuts it would be difficult to sync scene by scene. Also I’m not sure If you plan to do it, but I’d really like to watch this in full-length too! So if you could consider that that’d be great. No matter what I’ll keep watching and supporting you guys so just do what you feel fits best. :)

Melissa Whitacre

OH! Also my understanding was that Tsukki’s brother was actually on the team, but because you can only have so many team members on the court he was cheering alongside his classmates. So he still went to practices and tried to improve hoping that he’d be able to make it back on the court.

Stryfe

I would rather pay for the full reactions with a timer than watch this. I fell that the enjoyment takes a dip when you don't have the viewable context, even if you know what is going on. It's fine for avoiding copyright stuff on the 10 min version. God reaction as always!

imonsnow

Timers are for the full episode reactions we are doing which we will start doing for haikyu as well but that will be 10 dollars for the full reactions. There really isn't any other option at this point unless I just take off haiku and put them on vimeo. I have done so many different edits at this point and Toho still takes down our videos.

imonsnow

I am not sure either to be honest. I don't know what to do anymore and I haven't felt like that about a reaction before. Anime seems to be extremely difficult to react to. Without getting claimed, blocked or strikes.

imonsnow

I don't think we are doing anything wrong. I just think it has to do with luck. Because literally almost all of our Haikyuu have been blocked and we have edited them so many types of ways at this point. Whereas semblance of Sanity can show the full screen and full sound without an issue. Very odd

imonsnow

Yeah it seems like the only option if I want to continue putting them up on Youtube. Unless it just becomes a vimeo option. Thank you for the feedback!

I've seen other people use an image or objects behind a faded version of the video in the corner. I'm not sure if you've tried it or if it works as well, but just a heads up. Having a poster of a pattern or a detailed character in the area where you'd lay the video might work? Like if you placed a small square of the video on the most detailed part of the pug wave behind you or something.

To me this is one of the worst ways to do reactions ill just explain why I think it. I always hate the way the actual video is presented and to me the video may as well not be there. A huge chunk of the picture is missing and the important things usually are near the center of the screen obviously. In all the important scenes see are jerseys, water bottles, yamaguchis teeth when yelling at tsuki etc. I cant even open another window to watch the episode with you guys because the episode is edited and cut. Im not shuffling around and syncing up a video on a second window to match the reaction multiple times, its simply too tedious. I basically have to shut my eyes and remember to the best of my ability what that particular scene looked like at any point of the video. Its just not the same. I hope you guys find another solution or figure out what specifically is causing strikes and minimize that. I dont mean for this to come out the wrong way, but this style of editing looks and feels lazy even when we all know its not.

imonsnow

I appreciate the feedback guys, I am just sort of at a loss at this point. Our last couple reactions to Haikyu were blocked again even after making the audio low and the video super transparent. I always make the reactions less than ten minutes of actual footage so that isn't the issue either. This works best for protecting us against blocks and strikes. I understand it being annoying though. We are starting to do full reactions after this episode. But that will be for another tier.

Semblance of Sanity has problems with copyright too on their Haikyuu vids and their MHA vids. No one is safe.

Anonymous

That was my understanding too. He wasn't a starter or a main bench substitute. Like a reserve player.

Diana mccall

I like it :D of course i prefer the other but i know that this is the best for you guys! So it’s okay😊

Norberto Rodriguez

I mean, I'll rather have a time and watch a long than this tbh, ill be willing to pay maybe a little if needed to get that. Don't really like this kind of vids.

Anonymous

I like it too.

Kevin O'Grady

I like it the way it is

Resto

Not a fan of this way, honestly. I feel like it wont work as well when it comes to volleyball match episodes because you want to see the gameplay. Since there was a lot of talking this episode it wasnt as bad.

Magdiel León

I like this, it’s kind of like what Heatah22 reactions does with their reactions except they do add some of the most important scenes in see through form. I don’t know what all the fuss is about with people complaining about not being able to see the show, if you’ve already seen the episodes then all you need to know is what part of the episode they are reacting to which is what the subtitles are for, if you want to see the episode the just go watch the episode!
