Yayyy! 👏🏼 Can't wait for the finale and season 5! Love your thoughts on everything. Murtry and company are definitely the footman of capitalists, and what capitalists call "uncivilized" is a term used as a means of alienating and dehumanizing people who are in the way of their thieving and hoarding of resources.

Also, unfortunately, Holden is technically there on Illus on behalf of the capitalist ruling class, aka Avasarala. For obviously a very different reason, and definitely a more noble one, but still.

The western/cowboy movie standoff between Murtry and Holden is so cool, and the arguments they each make are so well done. When Murtry argues about civilization I was like "he makes an interesting point" and then Holden's counterpoint that he's using past atrocities to justify present atrocities I was like "Holden makes an even better point." I feel like you reacted similarly to that Imon. When I first watched this I also really wanted Holden to execute Murtry, but Holden's got to be Holden, basically incorruptible. But hey that's way we have people like Amos. Holden's line about throwing him in a cell, "we call that civilization" was so awesome. After a rewatch I liked that Holden left Murtry alive. Lastly about the actress who played Wei, you saw her in The Boys season 1. She plays Hughie's girlfriend who dies in the first 5 minutes of the show, and then Hughie sees her in flashbacks and stuff.

Obviously I'm late to watching/commenting on these since you've already finished the series, but I wanted to say that Miller inhabiting that piece isn't some sort of absurd thing that doesn't make sense to us as humans. Miller's consciousness lives as a signal through the Protomolecule, allowing him to inhabit/turn on different tech from "the builders" so he just jumped into a part of the tech that was mobile. These are unusual things for us as humans, but the concept does make sense as a possibility. I rarely think that something doesn't make sense, I think "I don't quite get why/how that happened right now" but sometimes I can figure it out. If I can't, I just think that the concept may be beyond me right now. I assume the authors have an idea of the "how." It does bother me, however, when I find out the author doesn't seem to have a concept and I HATE when they try to put it on us to "figure it out and YOU tell ME what it means." Ugh. But, I digress. That's not the case here. I feel these authors have definite theoretical concepts that they're putting down and show how these concepts affect people as we know them and how they deal with these concepts that are outside of our normal perceptions. The reason I'm mentioning this is because when you said it didn't make sense, it sounded like you were just brushing it off as just some unknowable thing the authors put in to confuse us or to say, "This is craziness way beyond human understanding." I feel like they do a pretty good job of explaining to us the high concepts. Also, please don't think I'm scolding you or anything. It just seemed like you were giving up on trying to understand what was happening and, yes, I know you're done with this, but I hope you didn't go through this thinking that some things just don't make any sense. When you rewatch or watch others' reactions, you'll definitely get a better idea of how things fit together and even the perspectives of characters we already know and love, like Amos and Avasarala.
