Funny enough, there's a new show that just came out, also based on a scifi book, called "3 Body Problem", that your after thoughts of 3X12 reminded me of, specifically about the "bigger picture" and alien civilizations.

Great reactions as always, love the thoughts at the end of the episodes. You are correct, the protomolecule was found on Phoebe , which was believed to be an asteroid from outside our solar system that was caught in Saturn's gravity millions of years ago. I think your thoughts on Clarissa are quite interesting, It's definitely a potential risk to keep a dangerous person around, but I don't think it would sit right with me if she was just executed while restrained and disarmed. However, I do agree there isn't much benefit to keeping her around besides wanting to either punish her as Anna seems to want or having some moral belief that anyone can change for the better. Just my unsolicited two cents, thank you for the weekly uploads!

"Okay, I'm gonna need that gun back now." Classic Amos Correct Imon, the beings that built the protomolecule and the ring space are gone. Something killed them. That's what we know so far. What could kill a civilization so powerful? I've only read the first book, from what I've heard the show has changed certain characters from the books. Ashford in the book is really dislikable from what I've heard. In the show he's a pretty reasonable guy. Drummer was also not as big as a character in the books but the writers loved Cara Gee's performance so they made her a bigger part of the show. At least that's what I've heard.

Oh yeah, your question at the end, season 4 actually is the end of book 3 Abaddon's Gate. This is the first time the season finale is the book finale.

WOW...your insight was incredible to listen to after 3x12. Can't say any other Reactor responded to this episode in the way you did. Being able to come to an understanding that there's two stories unfolding. One on a micro scale (we mere humans) and then one taking place on a macro scale (protomolecule and this mystery of whatever the hell is going on and the history of the beings that made this thing)! This was just another reason I loved this show so much. The way it seamlessly told two stories with the macro one overlapping the micro one since the micro one was the one we all focused on at first as you pointed out! Can't wait to see your reaction to the glorious Season 3 finale!!!

i dont know if you see old comments but, i will write this anyway. ashford's character in this book, the third one, while he was following the same plot at this point with the decision to destroy the rings to save humanity, he was a totally different character, angry and stupid, entitled, dressed different, like they did a 180 with this show's character. AND THE SHOW DID HIS CHARACTER SO MUCH BETTER. Book ashford is trash! he's expanded on a lot as this version of the character and i enjoy his character A LOT.
