Or a remake? Idk!!

Anyway...

Here's some locker game progress and progress sneak peak to our other games.

I recently got into a creative spurt so I finally got the balls to set our plans into a tangible one.

With what happened to Tentacle Hell, I got a few realizations:

  • I love the "reports" mechanic of LCL, and trying to abolish and remake it into something new and unique was only good on paper but was not actually fun to play (at least for me).
  • The art style plays a vital role in the game, and it affects the gameplay more than I realized.
  • The old LCL technical systems are incredibly limited so an overhaul is definitely warranted.

Now, this new "prototype" will finally allow us to include new interesting mechanics that were not possible in the first game, such as:

  • The ability to literally "control" a target into your locker.
  • Real-time "target selection" mechanics
  • Immersive entity behaviors, not just something linear or robot-like.
  • Aggression behaviors i.e. having your targets attack other targets.
  • Pathfinding behavior like dodging attacks, other targets, etc.

Of course, the technical mechanics are not the only I have in mind.

  • More focus on the "reports" system, like multiple "report types". Some reports are positive, some reports are negative for you. Your actions in the environment and your targets will have specific reports and those reports will have specific outcomes. For instance, if a target sees you on Locker #23 (through pathfinding), that target can then create a report which can send a "security" officer to Locker #23 (through pathfinding). Now, whether it's your intention to have a security officer sent to Locker #23 in the first place or not, that'll be an interesting scenario. Maybe Locker #23 is your best locker?
  • Multiple "mental" mechanics, and not just the straightforward "brainwashing" which is basically just amnesia. Each entity can have memories and personalities you can affect. For instance, if a target saw you in a locker, she will have a "memory" of that instance. Through that memory, she can "report" you. Now, we can have mechanics that can "alter" that memory or just "remove" that specific memory.

Anyway, those are just ideas at the moment and there is no guarantee they'll make it into the game, but yeah we have a damn ton of ideas just lying around.

I'm rlly interested in the targeting mechanic you've introduced- my first thought was some kind of resource system, probably to do with the skill tree. Like, each woman has a resource you get when you capture them, and each node costs multiple of these points.

but I thought a bit more, and I thought about what if some women have more juice inside them than others? Like, one gets you 10% of your next level up, but they're directly behind one that gives you 30%. Do you get the 10% for a clean capture of the 30%, or do you cap the 30% for the 10% to run into another locker?
