Hi...

It almost feels like it's been a while...

But yeah...

We got a new game here.

I'm proud to announce the release of PATTERN SCREAMERS: an adult horror thriller puzzle visual novel inspired by the SCP mythos' "Pattern Screamers".

https://strange-girl-studios.itch.io/pattern-screamers

Written by Fouzi and developed by us at Strange Girl Studios, this game is basically the culmination of our experience in the indie game industry for the past 8 months.

For starters, we really made sure that we followed what essentially is a "game development process" for this game to make the process as efficient and effective as possible. Here are a few early concept arts for one of the game's characters:

Every part of the game started on a sketch, unlike our previous games like Lovecraft Locker. Doing it this way has proved to be effective and powerful in the long run. Here's an initial sketch of the map:

What ended up in the game now looks like this:

This same process applies to the visual novel scenes of the game.

Anyway, all that talk aside, so yeah. I hope you guys will like PATTERN SCREAMERS.

Our team and Fouzi really worked hard to make this game as polished and as immersive as possible.

Like always, our loyal Patrons will receive a free full copy of the game here via Patreon's messaging system. If you at least have a subscription worth $30 (lifetime value), you should receive a message for the download link.

What do you think of PATTERN SCREAMERS? Got any ideas or suggestions? Let me know in the comments section!

Erm, is that it? Just two scenes? If it's a game in development that's one thing but surely you should make it much clearer that what you are getting is a WIP version? I was very excited when I tried the demo and so bought the full version, but was disappointed with how little content there is at the moment (even if it is quite high quality).

Agree with Mint, be more upfront in the future. It could leave bad taste in some people's mouths. If it was just a short demo release then I'd understand more but I paid for your Patreon sub and then 9.99 on Itch for a couple of minutes of entertainment. Your version nomenclature needs to be more clear. I should know at a glance whether a paid version has more content or not.

The Itch.io page for Pattern Screamers says there are "9,000+ words of dialogue", which should imply there should be more than two scenes on the current full version. The demo though only has two "main" scenes.

Perhaps we need to optimize the game a bit more in terms of progression, as it seems you guys weren't able to access the rest of the scenes and story via current means.

I've got 2 Gina scenes, 2 Dana, 2 Lily, then the to be continued. By achievements it looks like there's some Charlotte content? Even so that wouldn't add much more to the current full version right? How long should a playthrough take with the full version at this time? I also see a strange girl and two with the name of your other games. Even so, I would think that's maybe 15 minutes?

Kyokkai

Yeah just found them all. Even so, it's still pretty short. I'd say maybe 20-30 mins. It's good, it just feels that calling it full is a bit misleading.

Does that mean I got the wrong version? Or am I just dumb being stuck at the point where the MC says he wants to go outside, I tried clicking on the garden and then going through all the rooms. I just assumed that the red room was the end of what you've finished. Edit: I've realised now that you've got to take the stairs for the scene in the shower. Still, it seems like this game is very much a WIP for the moment and this should be displayed more obviously.

One more thing, it would be nice if a 'Gallery' could be added for scenes you've already unlocked.

In which Patreon lvl is the game included?
