Author Notes: Hello everyone! I'm sorry to say that this month's update is extremely short due to college assignments and finals week and other life distractions eating up the majority of my time. I didn't even get to impliment half of what I had planned ;w;


On the upside, now that I'm on summer break I now have the time to create bigger and better updates! I hope you all stick around to enjoy Repeat, and I'm sorry for this month's smaller update! ;w;/


Changelog:

-NSFW Volleyball and Swimming scenes have been added to Day 3, and occurs after the kayaking scene.

-Day 6 is 40% complete

-5 new CG artworks added

-Lots of grammar and spelling corrections

OMG an update! I really love this so much ( basicly every single background i have is now either echo or "me" ) and i do not care that the update is not that big. You may say that i am a little bit adicted to this novel. The music is just superb. Now, i am going to stop drooling over the keyboard and start playing and reading :)

Bugs: Halley is mixed up with Hershel's template, using his name and colors. Also, if one ventures to click past your Patreon thing after the build ends, it will loop through the Patreon scene again and then proceed to play out the Swimming choice (I was greeted by Owen in a black void, congratulating me for choosing Swimming).

Prepare for a wall of text (I mean a HUGE frickin’ wall; also, spoilers for those who haven’t played the update). Please do not take this the wrong way, but I was disappointed with how you handled the Kayaking/Swimming/Volleyball scenes. There are a few reasons for this, though I believe that the last reason will not be a problem for the majority of players, so feel free to ignore it. The first reason: by forcing the player to partake in kayaking, this starts to make the game too Sissel-centric. This is because this will be the second mandatory scene in the game that encourages romantic relations between Sissel and Euca, the first being the lunch with Sissel on the first day. Comparing to the mandatory scenes with either Phillip or Owen (these scenes being Phillip’s introduction, Owen’s introduction, and the kitchen scene with Owen), these scenes lack obvious romantic themes and they are relatively short. Meanwhile Sissel not only gets a nice lunch, but a special scene with two variations, one including an awkward boner and the other having Euca use Echo to impress Sissel. Please note that as the game stands, this isn’t a major problem. Even so, I remember reading comments some time ago of players thinking the game was Sissel-centered before this update, so please take care not to make Sissel the “canon” character—I personally believe there should be no such thing in a romance-based VN. The second reason: the above could have been avoided if you stuck to the original trinary branch of choosing between Kayaking, Swimming, and Volleyball. Before this update, I was expecting each choice to focus on one character, thus giving the player the choice of which character to get close to. Plus, I was expecting to see both Swimming and Volleyball be affected by the usage of Echo like Kayaking was. Instead, Kayaking is forced onto the player and the other two scenes are (effectively) downgraded into sex scenes. This brings me to my last reason… The last reason: the sex scenes feel a little forced and out of place. Yes, I am a Patreon supporter of a furry VN promising sex scenes and I am complaining about the addition of sex scenes (I know there wasn’t any actual sense, but it is just easier to call them “sex scenes”), hence the earlier statement about this not being a problem for most players. Now I’ll explain myself. I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that you intended Euca to be a pervert and this is quite obvious in his dialogue and narration. But, even so, it feels incredibly jarring for Euca to be so forward. In addition, while it is not a surprise for Owen to be happy to go along with it, it was also jarring for Sissel to be perfectly willing to participate, effectively shattering my estimations of him as a character. In the previous build, taking in the game as a whole, I got the impression that Euca’s relationship with the others would slowly build and that he would slowly hone in on a specific romantic interest, continuing through a build up to a romantic relationship. I am not talking about several dates leading up to a single sex scene, but I expected more of a build-up than what occurred. Plus, realistically, at least in Sissel’s case, you would expect their relationship to change in some way, even if it’s just an overall awkwardness between Euca and Sissel, after giving the guy a handjob in the shower. However, this actually wouldn’t be a problem for me at all if I were given the option to decline the sex scenes seeing as whatever choice I make, Euca is either giving Sissel a handjob or blowing Owen. I mean, what if a player is only interested in Phillip and has so far been choosing every Phillip options? Before, such a player (or any player focusing on one character for that matter) is okay when presented with a choice that does not include an option for his chosen character because all such scenes do not lead to direct romantic/sexual relations and provide for development of the other two characters, who—despite not being the player’s romantic interest—are still interesting and the game would be bland if the player ends up following a single character throughout the game (like some others VNs). But now, a pro-Phillip player must decide between two sex scenes, neither with his romantic interest. If the option were given to skip the sex scenes, it would then be up to the player’s preference, so players who are pro-Phillip (and also have no interest in the other two) or those who want a slower build-up are allowed to pass up the scenes while everyone else enjoys them. There is a simple solution to the last reason, merely giving the player the option to opt out in a similar manner to the Owen shower scene. There is also a solution that solves all of these reasons, but it is probably far too late now, considering the amount of work you put into these scenes and the work required to implement my suggestion, but I will give it anyways because why the fuck not. Go back to the original trinary branch concept, with the Kayaking/Swimming/Volleyball choices and make it so that whether or not you use Echo earlier that day determines whether or not a sex scene occurs. If you did not use Echo, thus saving the wish, Euca uses that wish on whatever activity he chooses and impresses whichever character is represented in that scene, which would then lead to a sex scene. Otherwise, without the wish, an alternate scene is played (perhaps with only minor alterations to shave down work time) and does not result in a sex scene. As I said in the beginning, DO NOT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY. I still enjoy Repeat and plan to continue supporting it. Think of it this way; if I didn’t like your VN, why would I bother writing walls of text critiquing it? Also, do not think that I will discontinue support even if you declare all of my critique bullshit; I am more than willing to overlook my personal dislike for the sex scenes (or any small problem I have with it for that matter) in order to see this VN to the end. tl;dr I have some problems with your implementation of the Kayaking/Swimming/Volleyball choices, but they are small problems in the grand scheme of things. …despite what the size of the wall o’ text implies; I just like being detailed in my critique.

I'm kinda glad someone noticed it and could describe it in a way better that I ever could (Thanks ZephyrLyall). As much as I am aware this game is gay nsfw oriented, players should have a option to back off from certain scenes, especially if they do contain characters they are not really interested in. So as was said, I think that version with 3 options on what to do on day 3 is better. Or just having a chance to back off from sex with the character that players are not interested in. I do know you put a lot of hard work in that game and I am glad I can support you, and still will do in the future, but I must say, day 3 was not really what I expected. Forcing players into a sex, especially with someone who they might not be interested in is not really the best idea. And even if, what if someone pursues Owen/Sissel route but does not really feel like having sex in that particular moment? Do not take it please as a complain. It is not. Just my 2c about what I'd personally like to be changed. Speaking of changes, the jpg format of pics you used in a game have a lot or artifacts, at least in my case. Not sure if it is common thing, but if it is, i'd personally preffer to have bigger files with better quality, without small faults in the pictures. And most importantly, thanks for the update and your work on that game :)

Thank you for taking the time to give me such in-depth feedback! Don't ever feel like you're being rude by doing so, it just gives me a better starting point for me to improve my game. I agree with you that the sex scenes feel a bit out of the place. To be honest, I rushed through a lot of it because of my time constraints and busy schedule this month. I might try and add another chunk of content into this update before the end of next week to try and alleviate some of the problems you discussed above. I'll do my best to make things be a little more subtle! Thanks again for the critique!

I agree with the previous comments, but I also want to say that the scenes in themselves were pretty great! They feel shoehorned in compared to the overall plot, but the way they were handled at a smaller scale felt fun, and natural. I feel like they'd work better if they were a sort of "reward" for focusing only on one character - if you choose all the Sissel options, or all the Owen options, you'd naturally get close to them and you could end up having the option of doing stuff with them (though again, "option" might be a key word here). That, or you could just put more emphasis on option, like "take a huge leap forward" and start the sex scenes, but maybe have that reflect later in the game with small diverging paths, like Owen/Sissel reacting differently. Personally I'd prefer for each of the three activity options being options that get you closer to one of the three other characters, and /if/ you've maxed out your relationship with them during the previous days, you get the /option/ of taking a risk and engaging in sex stuff. But that's just me, and I wouldn't be following Repeat if I didn't enjoy your creativity and your art! I really like the overall story (and I did quite enjoy the NSFW), this comment's just to say that you could smooth things out a bit ^^

I am almost positive that the VN is not tracking which paths you choose most of the time. Which is fine, really, because most of the time the choice isn't clearly associated with one character anyway--going to the kitchen when sick doesn't mean you like Sissel, it just means you're hungry.

Bugs: well don't know if it is me only since no one else has commented but, i seem to be either missing or having corrupt files on this update. I downloaded the update a couple of times but, upon extracting the zip files it states that the archive is corrupt. I played it regardless thinking it wasn't much but it seems that the text flow is broken and stops at random intervals before continuing. The animation fluidity in some scenes also seems to lag and the updated scenes cannot be found (either image or text). So the game keeps giving me error messages on file not/image/text not found. This also includes an old scene (although i can't remember which one). Overall good update I might try to download it again and see if i get the same message later on.

Thank you for your report! I checked the game script a few times and I don't seem to be running into any corrupt files or the sort. Which scenes do you think you're missing? If an error message appears, could you screenshot it and send it my way? I'll look into fixing it asap!

I played it and i have to say: the update is not much. Buuuut.... Day 6 is kinda revieling and i love that(you just created a consperacy theorist). There is one thing with day 6 though: the transitions between scenes is shortly said horibly. I know you told us you didn't had a lot of time so I don't really mind for now. Besides all that, everyone seems to know the basics about every character. Where can I find that? P.S. if my spelling sucks: blame it on my way to tiny phone :)

I enjoyed all the new content and had some fun exploring paths I didn't previously. The only strange thing was that at the very end after the ending message, it looped back to the post-swimming scene but didn't load the background.

The sexual scenes were great, the bad thing is that the non-sexual scenes seemed quite affective and boding moment... Honestly, when I first played, I didn't know what to choose for fear of not choosing a romantic route.
