Big announcement! (Patreon)

Okay, everyone.

First let me say, I appreciate you all. No matter what tier you pledge at, I appreciate you. The reason I do this is not just for the money but, to make people like you all happy.

Now, I won’t be shutting down my Patreon but, things will be changing. I’ve found that the demands I’ve been putting on myself with the art here are unsustainable.

I strive to create interesting, fun and, perhaps even titillating art for you all. I strive to become better and to stay fresh. Lately, I feel that the level of monthly output is draining. You may have noticed a lack of a Monthly Drawing this month. Astute patrons will also notice that this is not the first time. I’ve even stopped this year’s Inktober due to the pressure to provide artwork. Not finishing work for you is a great source of frustration for me and it really gets to me. 

I can’t think of when it started but, this month found me locking up in terms of ideas. I would sit at the drawing table and just… sit. Nothing came. Or, if it did, it felt so default and boring that I didn’t think it would ever be good enough to post for you.

I also feel that my quality has been diminishing, that I’m not providing the level of quality you’ve come to expect. I have virtually stopped practicing. 

I guess the official name for this is burnout. The desire, the drive to perform at a certain level has locked me up mentally. So, something has to change. 

Here’s what the future will hold. I may lose some patrons but, this needs to be the new way for now. Things will always change and I will always value your input.

Here’s what stays the same. All patrons will have early (1 week) access to all of the art. $5 patrons will still get early access to sketches (then it drops down to the $1 patrons before hitting FA/DA). $25 patrons will still get their monthly commissions. 

The big change is that the polls are going away. They have begun to cause me great stress and nothing has felt good enough in a couple of months. There will still be art posted regularly in addition to the $25 Patron drawings. it will be just TF and anthro stuff I want to do. I’ve got some ideas (including some comics) that I haven’t been able to get to due to the pressure of the poll art. 

I will still ask you for ideas and advice. I will still randomly offer icons. There will still be art. It’s just that for now, I cannot keep going with the polls.
