Monthly Drawing 13b: Sylvia Steps Out 1 (Patreon)

This really isn't page one. I've not written a story yet, I just wanted to have a semi-intro comic that was in media res to show a character and not just a pinup (to follow, of of course)

The basic story is: 

1953. Trevor Ainsley, mad scientist, owns fifty acres of farmland in Update New York. He hires someone to tend the farm while he does his thing. 

Mad Science. 

He really wants to elevate animals to humanity in the hopes of adding more interesting paths to our gene pool. He's also an early furophile...

He's been feeding and nearly domesticating a female squirrel for the past year. He named her "Sylvia" because she lives in the woods (Trevor isn't as prosy as he thinks he is). Deciding she's be the perfect first subject, he places her in his Aetheric Chamber and out steps a 3'10" tall, zaftig squirrel girl. She's intelligent but, a complete blank slate. He teaches her to read, which only takes a day. She learns to write in another day. By the end of the week, she's speaking perfect English in, oddly enough, a Mid-Atlantic accent.

Trevor is too enthralled with is new companion that he fails to notice that her astoundingly fast education is due to her intelligence being, now, much higher than his. 

At first, she enjoys his company both intellectually and in the bedroom but, soon both pale. She's reading more and more advanced works and it begins to trouble Trevor. So, he plans on tricking her back into the chamber to reduce her intelligence to far below his.

The plan doesn't go so well...

Sylvia ends up tricking Trevor into the chamber and transforms him into a feral squirrel. She allows him most of his intelligence but, leaves him susceptible to a squirrel's instincts and with no ability to read. With her higher intelligence, she'd learned and improved Trevor's design, giving her much more control than Trevor.

She begins to become desirous of more intellectual stimulation. She creates a portable version of the chamber and works it into a gun-like device. 

She also desires more excitement. Though letters and telephone calls, she begins to grow a business as a professional thief, stealing things of very high value and through very high security. Art. Jewels. Rare books. Anything interesting and dangerous to obtain.

She has also created a small, device that, when worn as a pendant against her body, can transform her into a human girl. This aids her in travel to her 'jobs'. 

Tonight's job is only thirty miles away so, she's going au natural, hitching rides on the top of trucks. It's more fun that way...
