So you folks have a bit of context:

My workshop has recently decided to adopt one of the kitties from a cat litter that was born under our terrace. (the other kitties were given to loving families)

Me and a few others that were around took care of feeding the kitty we'd name "Wibo" and his parents, and playing with him, petting him, etc. Me especially, took this responsibility seriously, and took him to the vet for his first shot and checking if everything was okay (since he IS a wild cat).

Things went so well, and Wibo was SO CUTE and trusting. Then, like the comic mentions, last week he changed completely. Always hiding, always running away. Then I saw him playing with his dad and was like "THATS WHY, I KNEW IT, SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPENED" because of the short tail and thereby basically had a roller coaster of emotions because the thought of animal abuse makes me a big gooey mess.

The comic will tell you the important stuff, but basically we found out that Wibo was actually stuck over the other wall and couldn't come back to our workshop for a whole week. MEANWHILE, his half brother came in and took his place and ate the food we gave. And they look almost identical (on the exception of the tail, obviously) so... SO YEAH.

SOMEONE WAS PLAYING A GOOD OL' JOKE ON ME

HA HA HA hA hA

and I don't care because I'm so relieved. Here I was, thinking dark thoughts about how humans could be capable of this, imagining how it happened, and...

well, lesson learned. Sometimes (MOST times) putting so much time and energy into the worst case scenarios is just... a complete waste of time and energy.

At least that's what I'll keep from this story :)
We still gotta regain trust from Wibo because that poor kid's been cut off from human contact and surviving on his own for a whole week so he needs a lot of love and patience until he feels 100% back home.

I'm a big cat person. Can you tell?

love
