One of the projects I'm working on this summer for pocket money is illustrating a study on data-centers and their impact in cities!

Be it an impact on citizens living near a super noisy bitfarm (bitcoin data-center) and it driving them mad, or data-centers giving cities a financial boost when purchasing land or electricity, or their (ever growing) impact on the environment...

The researchers wanted to spruce up their research paper with more personalized drawings rather than just photos, to make it more pleasant for readers' eyes. I thought it was a great idea! So here I am, drawing data-centers, town halls, and maps this month, things I've never drawn before and didn't think I would :)

I usually stick to my own projects, my own comics, but the subject is one I believe important: studying data-centers' different impacts and vulgarize the results found. I think more people need more ways to understand exactly how it all works! So we're aware of how we can use the internet in a more intelligent, and less wasteful way.

The drawings look amazing and im happy to hear wonderful people like you are helping everyone learn about this better. Still I wanted to say a joke “remember hoarding those 20 year old emails keeps the Taos hum alive”. Sorry for the pun,I am writing up something to learn about data cleanup. A couple billion emails deleted will help our internet

Our biggest issue with data centers here in Iowa is the water used for cooling. Enough to push some areas into drought conditions. And there are data centers all around Des Moines. Locals are now starting to realize this and are making noise about it.
