Showing the fruit pulsing inside Luffy is a low key hint at a few things IMO… the biggest one being that Luffy still has not fully awakened his powers. He still does not know who/what Nika is. His eyes changing partially is a hint at that too… think back to when Saturn “lost all pretences of being human”… that is missing from Luffy… where his fruit (or whatever is inside the fruit) is in full control,..

true gear is so much better in the anime, the manga makes it look goofy and somewhat annoying, i feel believe that the anime makes it more alive and gives it more character, while keeping part of the goofiness, it's like you can overlook it being goofy
