Centuries after a civilization-ending war, gigantic, near-immortal biomechs—living machines that were the primary weapons used in that war—still function. As their operators passed on long ago, most of them lie dormant. Rarely, though, a biomech will spontaneously activate and begin to move on its own. In these cases, they seem to behave much like primitive humans. They are curious and not typically territorial or aggressive, but can easily accidentally trample careless humans who get too close. Perhaps the greatest danger they pose, however, is the one overwhelming desire inherent in all living things... The desire to mate.
