Give a warm welcome to Rosangela Ludovico! She will be my colorist / background artist for Kid Quicksand primarily, but also any new NSFW bonus comics and much more in the future! The next pages of comics I put out here on Patreon will be work she has done this month, and you can always check the description of future comics for if she worked on it.

To help you get to know her and her work, I asked a few questions!

How did you get into art / making your own comics?

"I cannot remember life before I decided that I wanted to do art. My mother says that I made my first drawing at age 8 months, before I was even able to walk unassisted. My father collects books in general, and he's an avid fan of all comics, so I got to peruse his library and fall in love with comics. By when I was 4, I'd decided that I wanted to be a comic artist. That decision was final. As I learned more about art, I readjusted my idea to also being an illustrator, and to working on projects that I'm not sure if they can be called comics but are definitely comic-adjacent (the first book I made back in 2014, Cathemerals, is something I describe as "illustrated poetry", having both words and pictures but no panels). Currently my biggest project is The Gifts of Darkness which is a comic proper, so it's all exactly as I'd once envisioned. Sure, life as a comic artist is not at all what I thought when I was 4, but it's fine this way, it's good. Comics are such a wonderful medium. I love what comics can be so much."

Do you enjoy doing colorist work?

"It's probably my favorite part of doing art, actually. Drawing is hard, inking is hard, but then it's finally time to color! Finally! It's the part where I can relax a bit and mess around and if I am mistaken, I can try something different, without feeling like I'm ruining the picture. Plus, when it's about coloring someone else's art, like Tyler's comics, the mixing of styles makes it really rewarding for me to see. Also, I like that I don't have to feel like everything depends on me. Most of the page is already there, Tyler already did a good job, so I literally cannot do anything bad enough that I could fuck it up!"

How do you feel about all the weird vore kink stuff that I draw?

"I have chains in the bedroom and lots of other things that require a long check before any guests can enter the apartment. Weird kinksters like us gotta stick together. And it's important to support NSFW art in the current climate of the internet, where artists are penalized for drawing even just non-sexual nudity. I'll say something like that, and someone will say, oh, but you can't be saying that (weird vore kink stuff) is important? But that's exactly what I mean. Full disclosure, I'm not personally into that - I'm into other stuff. But hey, my kink is not someone else's kink and that's okay; I'm in full support of people experiencing their sexuality as they wish, in a way that's safe, sane, and consensual. Even though my own NSFW art leans more towards the flowery atmospheric erotic, I want to support all kinds of NSFW art, because they're from different people for different people. There should be some for everyone. Sexuality is such an important and universal aspect of being human, it's only fair that it should be explored in many different ways."
