The Importance of Taking a Break (Patreon)

Hey guys. Hope y'all having a great start to 2023 so far!

Sorry for being MIA recently, for those of you that have received the prints, I'm super happy that they have arrived safely and hope y'all liked them too!

I have been taking a week's break recently and for the first time, I went on a trip without really thinking about filming and properly enjoying everything that was around me. I went back to Japan with a friend and again, we rented the GR86 for 4 days driving from Tokyo to Nagoya and a bit further. Running exactly 1500 kilometers in total, meeting friends from my exchange university, and more in between.

Of course, I love making films for myself and for you guys, but sometimes I still regretted not filming this trip at all. I was so not used to just walking around without a camera in my hand, and half the time I thought I lost my camera or left it somewhere. But looking back at it now, I am glad I made the decision to put my filming-urge down for the week. It gave this trip a whole new meaning and allowed me to have a different perspective on what I am doing.

Sometimes it's ok to take it easy, just don't make it an excuse for the long term. When you need a break, just take a break, but get back to it once you're re-energized and ready to go again.  I have heard a lot of content creators "burning out" while doing YouTube, sometimes I also wonder if I am burning out too, or am I just giving myself an excuse. I still don't know lol, but I know what keeps me going, and I know when it is time to take a break :) Whatever you guys are doing or working on, you will find your pace eventually, and know what is best for you!
