I don't usually do a full background when I have a floating panel over it but I made an exception for this one. It's a good panel for promotional purposes, plus if I'm every able to do a printed version of Volume Two along the same lines as Volume One, this panel might be the one that ends up on the back cover.

It's also a good one to show how I brute force my way through large backgrounds that I'm not really confident in. I have no method to this madness other than looking at reference photos and mashing pixels around until it looks okay. (If anyone is out there wondering if they're ready to start making comics or art or whatever-- you are absolutely ready, because every panel is a learning process and a lot of the time art feels like an uphill battle. That's normal, I promise, and not indicative of your 'readiness' to start whatever project you want to start.)

And here's a breakdown of the floating panel from page 219 for good measure! Nothing wild, just my usual method of flat colors, etc.

That looks like it would be a good wallpaper

I really love how this panel gives you that “about to start an epic adventure” feeling. It’d make an awesome back cover image I think :)
