Camazotz, in which zotzilla is based on, is known as the Death bat, but is also a trickster, a prankster, so yes, Zotz knows this creature is a human, and is just playing around with her. Zotz has a soft spot for females the most, since those don't really pose a threat to her, so this is basically a warning from zotz to not pull an attack on her!
