“Well, that’s more like the two porkers I saw running off into the swamp. If anyone had known you stole those amulets at the time, we would have flown through the bogs and heaths on a hunt for you,” Marianna said. (Patreon)

“As for the mystery, the Foxglove ‘sisters’ as I hear them called are neither. They were two foundlings, dropped off at the Tower of Arcana about a year apart. Foundlings aren’t an unusual occurrence. Parents without means drop off their children, and they are raised to cook, clean, and serve the sorceresses. But these two were terrible servants; they were always being punished for eating what was meant for the sorceresses. And then, one day, at 11 years old or so, Selena manifested powers. It was quite small, mind you, but we took her into training. Fiona’s talents, if you wanted to call them that, showed up two years later. The tower trained them, like the sorceresses they used to serve. Oh, they enjoyed lording it over the other servant girls who used to mock their gluttony and sloth. The two had already formed a sort of…bond, you might call it, but it was then I suspect things became more…intimate. So, sisters? Doubtful. Foxglove? A pretty and powerful-sounding name. It was an illusion, like everything else that brought them power in these lands.”
She smiled widely, “I see you bothered to enchant your clothes as well. That was a clever redundancy. As long as you had the amulets on, these clothes would fit you. But you didn’t want them to rip if you lost the amulets, hmm? Clever. But let’s unravel those magics, a little at a time.”
