In my headcanon, Montresor has getting knocked up by Fortunato (and maybe it's not the first time he got pregnant). When he took his revenge on Fortunato, he just realized the baby is coming.

在我腦補中，蒙特雷瑟被弗圖納多搞大了肚子（也許被搞大過不只一次），當他打算對弗圖納多復仇時，卻發現自己就要生了。
